bullet for my valentine- scream aim fire

Scream aim fire was released on American iTunes on 18th December 2007 and released worldwide on 21 January 2008. Because of the fast guitar riff it was put in guitar hero world tour and modern greatest hits. The meaning behind the song and video is all about life inside war trenches, when it says over the top it is referring to the soldiers shouting it to run in no mans land.

slipknot-dead memories My favourite video

Slip knot Dead memories was realeased on the 1st of December 2008, the music video was directed by P.R Brown and Shawn Crahn, the video was premierd before the song itself showing how signifficent the video is to the song. Althrough the video we see vocalist Corey Taylor. At first he is walking through the birth of slipknot, Iowa, and he then digs a hole and falls through the it into a room. Where Sid Wilson is crawling on the walls and ceiling and Taylor continues into other rooms where all the band members are doing other things such as lighting candles, having pillow fights with girls and another is admiring himself in the mirror, the signifcance of the video is a number of things, when this video first come out it was a welcoming of their new masks which gives the title"dead memories" and shows they have to start again. Also Corey have confrentations with every band member showing that there was tension amongst the band when discussing their new masks. Also the fact that their all underground when the song starts shows that when they start playing music they are taken from the world into their own world.

the prodigy- omen

omen was released on the 16th of february 2009, it then became their 10th top 10 hit in the charts and it also won kerrang! song of the year. The song itself featured in the film kick-ass on top of this the drumming was performed by drummer of nirvana and lead singer of foo fighters Dave Grohl. I like the video itself because when omen is said people immediatly think of the devil but in this video the omen is represented as a little girl and she doesnt do evil deeds, in the video a man is shown trying to mug someone then the girl appears and attacks the mugger which is a contrast to the stigma attached to an omen.

coursework brief

Our coursework this year is to create a promo video for a band or artist who is unsigned and to evaluate  it, the video has to be up to 5 minutes long. The music has to be unsigned because if we use a singed artist or band it will be copyright unless we get permission from the band or artist to use their music. Along with the video and evaluation we need to create a digipak for a DVD release and a magazine advertisement.
